The Texas Southern University National Alumni Association takes pride in supporting our students in their scholastic endeavors.
Given by TSUNAA and generous alumni, these scholarships are based on financial needs and will be awarded through an application screening by our Scholarship Committee.
D.L. Greer Scholarship Information
D.L. Greer Scholarship Eligibility:
Scholarship Purpose
The DL Greer Scholarship Fund supports:
Students in the Ocean of Soul Marching Band
Students in the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology (COSET) majoring in Engineering or Computer Science
Award Details
Four scholarships awarded annually
Two $2,000 awards for Ocean of Soul saxophone players
Two $2,000 awards for COSET Engineering or Computer Science majors
Each $2,000 scholarship is disbursed in two $1,000 installments:
50% in Fall
50% in Spring
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be classified as a sophomore, junior, or senior
Be a full-time TSU student
Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7
Application Requirements
To be considered, students must submit:
A professional headshot
Two reference letters, including at least one from a TSU professor
A one-page essay on one of the annual topics below:
Topic #1- Explain how your background and experiences helped prepare you for success at Texas Southern University.
Topic #2- How will this scholarship help you achieve your academic or professional goals?
Topic #3- Share your long-term commitment and how it aligns to Texas Southern University’s mission.
Topic #4- Describe a challenge you overcame academically at TSU and how it shaped your goals.
Scholarships will be awarded by the Office of Financial Aid in conjunction with the Division of University Advancement.
