Bennie R. Allen-Brooks - Financial Secretary / Treasurer
Has been with IRS 33 years, 21 of those years in Appeals and
12 years in Compliance. As an Appeals Officer, Bennie is responsible for resolving tax controversies, without litigation, on the basis which is fair and impartial to both the Government and the taxpayer and in a manner that will enhance voluntary compliance and public confidence in the integrity and efficiency of the Service. Bennie also serve as Litigation support to the Attorneys when necessary in Representing the IRS in Tax Court. She is also the Abatement of Interest Coordinator, Trust Fund Recovery Penalty Specialist, Trained Mediator, Black Emphasis Coordinator, Diversity Coordinator and EEO Officer and Former Customer Service Officer in the Houston Office.
She has been employed with the IRS for 33 years. Bennie started her career as a Revenue Agent and was later selected as an Examination Group Manager where she worked for approximately 5 years.
As a Revenue Agent, Bennie worked as a Commodity Specialist, On-the-Job Instructor, Class Room Instructor, College Recruiter, EEO Counselor, EEO Investigator and as a Manager, she served as a member of the District Director’s EEO Committee.
Bennie is an Accountant by Profession, graduated with Honors from Texas Southern University with a BBA in Accounting.
